Yahoo! in Romania

In accordance with the information published by the Romanian newspaper România Liberă, Yahoo! intends to open a center for software research and development in Romania, and a specific 100% Romanian portal.

Zoltan Somodi, a state secretary at the Communication Minister, confirmed that a delegation of Yahoo! Europe came at Bucharest two weeks ago to discuss with the minister representatives the possibility to open a center for the development of the software applications. “We had a meeting with the Yahoo! representatives that was interested by the evolution and tendency of the IT market in Romania, and by the dimension of the work force in automation, computing and computers”, declared Somodi, quoted by Mediafax.
