Penal investigation for 8 Romanian ministers

In accordance with the Press Release of the Romanian President, he signed today the approval to start the legal procedures for the penal investigation for eight actual and ex ministers of the Romanian Government.

The request was made by the National Department of Anticorruption.

The eight ministers are the following:

  • Adrian Năstase, ex Prime Minister of Romania;
    (bribery and intercession)
  • Miron Tudor Mitrea, ex minister of the public administration and transportation;
    (bribery, instigation to false in official documents and use of the false documents)
  • Tudor Alexandru Chiuariu, ex minister of justice;
    (abuse against the public interests)
  • Zsolt Nagy, ex minister of the communication and information technology;
    (abuse against the public interests, betrayal by the transmission of top secrets, the constitution of an criminal group that acts against the national economy, and supporting of a transnational criminal organized group)
  • Victor Babiuc, ex minister of the national defense;
    (bribery and abuse with very hard consequences)
  • Nicolae Paul Anton Păcuraru, actual minister of the work and family;
    (bribery and favors given as minister to a company belonging to his son)
  • Ioan CodruÅ£ ÅžereÅŸ, ex minister of the economy and trade;
    (betrayal by the transmission of top secrets, the constitution of an criminal group that acts against the national economy, and supporting of a transnational criminal organized group)
  • Decebal Traian RemeÅŸ, ex minister of the agriculture and rural development;
    (intercession)
