Radovan Karadžić (Serbian: Радован Караџић, IPA: [râdovaːn kâraʤiʨ]; born 19 June 1945 in Petnjica, SR Montenegro, SFR Yugoslavia) is a former Bosnian Serb politician, poet and psychiatrist who was a fugitive from 1995 until 21 July 2008 after having been indicted for war crimes by the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) in The Hague, Netherlands. He was arrested in Belgrade on 21 July 2008 and brought before Belgrade’s War Crimes Court. For some time he had been working at a private clinic in Belgrade specialising in alternative medicine and psychology under the alias Dr. Dragan David Dabić under the company name of “Human Quantum Energy”. Today was the birthday of Octavian Bellu (known also as Belu), born on February 17, 1951 in Ploieşti, the Romanian gymnastics coach that was head of the national team, with interruptions, between 1988 and 2005.

World Records Academy designed Octavian Bellu the most successful coach, with 305 medals at World and European Championships and Olympic Games, including 16 gold medals at the Olympic Games.

Highly successful, Belu led the team to five world and two Olympic titles, as well as coaching numerous individual gold medalists – since the 1991 break-up of the Soviet Union, Romania has been the most successful women’s gymnastics power.

Nicolas Sarkozy will visit Romania for one day, on February 4th, to launch a strategic partnership with Romania, the first such partnership with a Central and East European country.

“As a way of marking bilateral relations and the support which France has given us over the years, Parliament will debate and ratify the treaty after Nicholas Sarkozy addresses Parliament” said Bogdan Olteanu, the heads Parliament’s Chamber of Deputies.

This is the first visit for Nicolas Sarkozy after he married the Italian supermodel Carla Bruni yesterday, during a small civil wedding ceremony at the Elysee Palace.

After seeing and reading all the Nicolas Sarkozy’s activity after he became the President of France, I cannot refrain to remark the similarities between Nicolas Sarkozy, the French President, and Traian Basescu, the Romanian President

• both of them are very good politicians
• both of them are very exposed in media, and have public and immediate reactions when they do not like the way some publications or televisions reflect their actions
• both of them are not very tall men but they like the young and beautiful women: Nicolas Sarkozy had a long romance with Carla Bruni with a happy end for them, just ending with their marriage; Traian Basescu is very well known in media for his passion for Elena Udrea, a very beautiful blonde that he promoted as his counselor, and now in a high position inside the party that he controls, the Democratic Liberal Party

In my opinion as an user eBay was losing its competitiveness due to its own rules. Too many rules, too restricting rules, a very complicated system for sellers, not a very good search system for buyers, and not a very good integration of all its parts. Now the new CEO, John Donahoe, who was named Wednesday as a replacement for retiring chief Meg Whitman, will try to re-establish the trust of eBay’s users and shareholders.

Citigroup analyst Mark Mahaney, as well as Steve Weinstein of Pacific Crest, downgraded eBay rating in their reports.

John Donahue consider Google and Amazon the main rivals for eBay but, in accordance with Bits, John Donahoe said that “There is a lot of talk about Google’s relevance-based search”. The company is working on a system that will evaluate customer feedback, data from its PayPal payment system, shipping costs and so on to present the very best deals to shoppers.

“On eBay we have data about what people actually purchased and bought. As we begin to capture and use that data, we believe we can provide the most relevant search experience that takes that inventory we have and delivers it to a buyer so they have good choice.”

As for Amazon, John Donahue said sellers will appreciate the change in eBay’s fee structure that will reduce the initial cost of listing an item. He consider that Amazon is preferred by the sellers because it has less risk for them.

eBay expects revenues of $2 billion to $2.05 billion for the first quarter. After the financials were released on Jan. 23, eBay’s stock dropped 6% in post-market trading, giving up almost all of the day’s gains.
