Dambovicioara zone is characterized by a varied and spectacular Karsts relief. River flowing down from Fagaras, Piatra Craiului and Leaota Mountains have digged in the limestone fro here narrow and deep valleys, developing on a relatively restraint area the biggest gorges complex from our country. Many erosion forms are here, underground and on the surface. Little or middle size caves are frequent. The most known is “Dambovicioara”. Situated in the Northern part of the village with the same name – at about 1 km – este very accessible for the tourists, the entrance being just near the road that crosses the Dambovicioara Gorges.

Bran Castle (German: Törzburg; Hungarian: Törcsvár), situated near Bran and in the immediate vicinity of Braşov, is a national monument and landmark in Romania. The fortress is situated on the border between Transylvania and Wallachia, on Highway 73. Commonly known as “Dracula’s Castle”, it is marketed as the home of the titular character in Bram Stoker’s Dracula, which has led to persistent myths that it was once the home of Vlad Ţepeş, ruler of Wallachia.

“The European destiny of Drobeta Turnu Severin result direct from his geographic position, this space representing a real bridge between the European Center and Near East, between the Nord of Europe and Mediterranean world. The antic city Drobeta and the modern city Drobeta Turnu Severin kept and keep the Europe and Balkan key. Here it was open the “Iron Gates” for waters and pupils, the antic and the modern Drobeta becoming also the symbol of the admittance of Balkans in Europe and of Europe in Balkans. But first, Drobeta signifies the beginning of the Romanian people, inaugurated by the entrance of Traian Emperor which brought with him the Roman culture, same as, after centuries, also by the entrance of King Carol I here, at Turnu Severin, the West penetrated on the Romanian earth, determining the birth of the modern Romania.

The olden times of the city history made that his territory to be a genuine and big open museum.
