Former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto was killed today when a suicide bomb exploded outside Liaquat Bagh, the venue of the rally, Interior Ministry Spokesman Javed Iqbal Cheema said in a phone interview from Islamabad.

“Terrorists are trying to derail the election process,” Interior Ministry Spokesman Javed Iqbal Cheema said in a phone interview from Islamabad. “I can’t say whether Bhutto was the target of this attack or whether the attacker was trying to create chaos and bloodshed.”

Police at the scene said about 15 people had been killed.

A Reuters witness said he saw about eight bodies on a road as well as a mutilated human head.

This is just another black file of the present history in breaking down the democracy in many other countries, bigger or smaller. Unfortunately, this is just the beginning.
