Polish parliament was blocked these days by protesters, helped by opposition, with accusations of fraud in voting laws and threats on media freedom. Demonstrations were also held in several cities in Poland, including protests of environmentalists and miners.

The demonstrators declared against a new regulation restricting media access to MPs and the illegal adoption of the state budget for 2017.

President Andrzej Duda called to calm, expressing in a statement “his worry and concern” and proposing his mediation.

Donald Tusk, European Council President called on Warsaw to respect “the people, principles and constitutional values”: “When we deprive people of access to information or impose a unique model of life, democracy becomes as unbearable as a dictatorship,” he said.
